Artists/ Studios I Like (Volume 1)

Master_Render_1.gif

So this is the start of a series of blogs I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. There are so many talented artists in the world and on the internet, that I want to help give them a boost if possible. That’s why I want to take some time out of my day every once in a while to shine a light on talent, because you shouldn’t just appreciate great art, you should talk about it!

M_layzell

I love Matt’s animatics. In fact, once Instagram started allowing bookmarks, his stuff was the first one I saved. He’s got a very eclectic feed featuring animatics, drawings, live action/illustration composites, and his humor shines through in whatever he uploads. I also believe that his Kitty and Orc animatics have been picked up by Netflix for a full series which is exciting! He’s definitely worth a follow.

Miranda is an exceptionally talented artist. I can’t remember how I stumbled onto her Instagram but I’m glad I did. A lot of her art deals with sex, sexuality, love and awkward moments. She has a great sense of humor, is endlessly relatable and she pushes the bounds of what cartoony styles are capable of. Her artwork also inspired me to tackle these subjects in my “Frame of Mind” series.

Goldenwolf

What can I say about Golden Wolf? They’re a studio based in the UK (and now have a New York Location), and are filled with some of the most talented animators I’ve seen. Their uploads are varied, never sticking to one style for too long, but their work has a funky/psychedelic quality to it. These guys are serious business and you can tell they have a blast on whatever they animate. Some of their best work are promos for Cartoon Network and Disney, so be sure to check those out on their Instagram!

This concludes the first volume of Artists/ Studios I like. If you have any recommendations, feel free to email me at: kylesdreamspace@gmail.com with the subject “Check This Artist Out” (if you’re submitting your own artwork, I’ll ignore you).
